Rating of FM-radio stations in Tashkent
The provided data are based on the research of FM radio stations rating, carried out by the "FAVORIT-INFORM" Ltd.(IMC "Tashkent - Moscow") in Tashkent in the period from December 20, 2000 to January 5, 2001. In total 300 respondents were surveyed of 7-65 age range. The research methods were personal interview, telephone interview. According to the obtained results,
• 70 % of respondents listen to radio stations broadcasting at FM frequency;
• 30 % of respondents who do not listen to radio, motivate it with
the following reasons:
- absence of radio receivers - 20 % of respondents;
- lack of time - 10 % of respondents
• the preferences of the respondents listening to FM-radio stations, were allocated
as follows:
- "regularly listen to radio "Grand" - 25 % of respondents;
- "regularly listen to radio "Sezam" - 20 % of respondents;
- " regularly listen to radio "Vodiy sadosi" - 15 % of respondents;
- "regularly listen to radio "Hamroh" - 5 % of respondents;
- "regularly listen to radio "Uzbegim taronasi" - 5 % of respondents;
- "regularly listen to radio "Dono" - 5 % of respondents;
- "regularly listen to radio "Yoshlar" - 3 % of respondents;
- "regularly listen to radio "Madatkor" - 2 % of respondents;
- "I listen to various radio stations" - 20 % of respondents.
• major factors affecting at the choice of radio stations are the following:
- interesting broadcasts - 85 % of respondents;
- favourite RJ - 15 % of respondents.
• ‘spontaneous recall’ method was used to identify the level of FM stations popularity. The most known FM radio stations were stations that started their activity as the first: Radio "Grand" (over 85%), "Sezam" (75%) and "Vodiy sadosi" (70%).
• time-allocation of radio listeners:
- morning (6.30 - 9.00) and evening (19.00 - 21.00) - 40 % of respondents (mostly, among people having a permanent work);
- day time (10.00-12.00; 13.30 - 18.00) - 30 % of respondents (housewives studying at schools, high schools etc., people listening to radio broadcasts at work etc.);
- 30 % of respondents listen to radio as far as possible.
• For the question "What advantages and disadvantages would you point out?" the following answers were mentioned:
- most of respondents (75 %) were insufficiently satisfied by broadcasts almost at all stations, as well as wished to improve the quality of entertainment and cognitive broadcasts;
- 5 % of respondents mentioned good audibility (quality of a sound) of recently appeared radio station "Dono".
