Light industry

Uzbekistan concerns to the largest in the world to manufacturers of a clap(cotton), silk, astrakhan fur. From made 1300 thousand tons of a cotton fibre at the enterprises of republic it is processed about 15 %. With a view of increase of efficiency of use of a cotton fibre it is planned to increase by 2000 processing of a clap(cotton) - fibres in republic up to 300 thousand tons.
The light industry of Uzbekistan, has 200 large enterprises and associations, a network of branches, 3 centres of modelling of clothes and jersey, design bureau, a network of firm trade, branch bank which provide about 20 % of total amount of industrial production, making 130 thousand tons of a yarn, from above 500 million meters of fabrics, more than 70 million pieces knitted and 80 million hosieries.
Due to reequipment of working manufactures by the present-day process equipment, association " Узбеклегпром " working in republic is going to carry out the program of improvement of quality and increase of volumes of production, expansion of its(her) assortment, having organized deep processing of a cotton fibre on the basis of attraction of investments both republican, and foreign banks, and also by creation of joint ventures.
Mainstreams of development of branch define the following:
In spinning manufacture - updating of shops безверетенного spinning on the basis of the equipment of new generation;
In weaver's manufacture - application основомотальных automatic devices with безузловым connection of strings, основопроборных automatic devices, replacement of weaving looms of the first generation on бесчелночные machine tools of the second generation;
In отделочно-красильном manufacture - introduction of the new equipment with the electronic control and regulation of processes.
For the period till 2000 is stipulated to lead(carry out) modernisation of 16 enterprises and to finish input 9 new, till 2005 it will be constructed 6 more enterprises.
Till 2005, due to construction new and technical reequipment of working enterprises it is planned to increase manufacture of a yarn more than - by 110 million running m, garments - almost on 3 billion сумов, knitted articles - on 30 million pieces.
Thus the share of export from volume of manufacture, in this period should increase: on a yarn - from 10 % up to 20 %, on fabrics - from 12 % up to 35 %, on knitted about 1 % up to 15 %.
For realization of the program planned up to 2005 providing construction new and technical reequipment of working cotton factories, 760 million dollars is required from above. USA, knitted and sewing manufactures - from above 5 million dollars. USA.
