The analysis of the Russian import and export of vegetable canned food

The analysis of the Russian import and export of vegetable canned food

In 2001 of one of the all-Russian tendencies has become sharp increase of volumes of import. In first half of last year volumes of import have grown more than on 30 %. And delivery of vegetable canned food did not become exception. Volumes of import of vegetable canned food continue to grow, having saved the tendency which has begun in 2000 (see rice 1). For nine months 2001 to Russia according to the State customs committee (State Customs Committee) it was imported 206 thousand tons of vegetable canned food (not including juices, tomato sauce and paste) for the sum 88,3 million dollars. It on 22 % is more in comparison with a similar parameter of the previous 2000. Within all 2000 into Russia it was imported 228 thousand tons of vegetable canned food. It on 40 % exceeds a parameter of the previous 1999. Thus it is necessary to take into account, that official given customs statistics rather poorly reflect true dynamics(changes) and the sizes of import of import production to Russia, the significant part (roughly equal on volume to legal import) vegetable preservation acts in the country from abroad in the illegal way. The government different measures tries to counteract this process, in particular subjecting to updating the customs. In 2001 the customs on vegetable canned food were reduced with 20 up to 15 %.

Table 1. Dynamics(changes) of import deliveries of tinned vegetables in 1998-2000 years (according to the State Customs Committee), thousand tons.

The green peas and the corn traditionally used by the Russian mistresses for preparation of various salads, still, concern to the most popular vegetable canned food. It(him) follow tinned corn, various and olives. It is remarkable, that tinned olives consume 29,4 % of the interrogated Moscow families while in Russia as a whole and in About this parameter much below and makes accordingly 12,6 and 16,5 %. The explanation can be and another: it is possible to assume also, that a part of foreign deliveries tinned and corn have simply departed « in a shadow », in sector of " illegal import ». However, on results of 9 months 2001 the parity(ratio) again has changed. The first place the green peas and corn (on 29 %), on the second – have divided olives and olives (14 %).
